Five hardy or optimistic members joined the club ride, managing a dry ride to Dean Hill to ‘enjoy’ our last club event of the season, the hill-climb championship. No sooner had this finished than the rain arrived and got progressively heavier, with the nearby yew tree not affording much shelter. Eventually making a dash for it, with rivers running down the lanes, and a further impromptu stop to shelter at Dean station, we 5 made it the few miles to the Black Horse at West Tytherley, where the landlady kindly set a fire for us!
